Tour Guiding Program (Distance Learning)

The rapidly growing tourism industry needs manpower that has high skills in foreign languages and technology, and is well-educated. The main purpose of the tour guiding program is to raise the quality human resource which;
  • - has all the theoretical knowledge required in the field of tourism,
  • - has the knowledge and skills required by the profession,
  • - has a good command of a foreign language,
  • - has the ability to make decisions and implements,
  • - has expertise in human relations,
  • - has a wide vision and is constantly open to development,
  • - closely follows the latest developments in world tourism,
Upon graduation, the students will have completed their compulsory academic education specified in the tour guiding professional law. After completing the regional training trips organized by TUREB (Union of Tour Guides’ Chambers of Turkey) and fulfilling the foreign language requirements the candidates will be able to make their applications for entry into the profession (for other requirements for entry to the profession please refer to the Tour Guiding Professional Law No. 6326). The graduates of this program also have the opportunity to work for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, travel agents, hotels, airways, tourism offices, etc.

This program, which provides distance education, is addressed to candidates who have a good command of at least one foreign language, have strong social and communication skills, enjoy traveling, can take on the responsibility of managing a group, and cannot attend formal education due to reasons such as profession, family or residence.

In the Tourist Guidance Distance Education Program, the courses will be given in the digital environment after 17:30. In the evaluations of courses, final exams will be held face-to-face and will affect the final grade of the semester by 80%. Students enrolled in the Tourist Guidance Distance Education Program are required to deposit the tuition fees announced by the university to the banks specified in the announcement.
